Title: Hardware Technical Assistant
Job Location: Lemont Furnace, PA
Position Summary: Provides routine technical support to engineers on standard components, devices, material, products, processes, and/or equipment. Supports the design, development, modification, and analysis of products and devices within the systems design of the hardware engineering team. Interacts with engineers and assemblers to define process improvements and/or necessary modifications.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support engineering with routine engineering duties and/or hands-on tasks and works independently on daily tasks
- Novice technical expertise
- Under direction, responsible for completing process documentation, bill of materials, route sheets, etc.
- Reviews project instructions and drawings to ascertain the nature of technical problems and possible solutions, and to support the design for manufacture
- Assists in the development of process improvements
- Monitor electromechanical assembly, disassembly and rework for accuracy and identify potential instruction(s) improvements
- Capable of performing related engineering processes
- Interpret and follow documents such as SOPs and safety rules
- Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements applicable to the company in accordance with State and Federal regulations and any applicable certification required to maintain the certification
- Interface with other departments to assure efficient flow of information
- Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
Basic Qualifications:
- Requires a High School Diploma/GED
- Must demonstrate good decision-making skills
- Experienced in the use of various computer applications, including Word and Excel
Additional Desirable Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge:
- Good electrical and mechanical aptitude
- Good interpersonal communication skills
- Experience with MRP a plus
Physical Requirements:
- Lifting up to 40 lbs. occasionally
- Walking, Bending, Standing, Stooping, Climbing: up to 10% of time
- Sitting: up to 90% of the time
- Must be willing to travel up to 10% of the time
AAC works on a 9/80 compressed work schedule, where employees work 80 hours in 2 weeks, and off every other Friday.
